Comments: I lost the mental battle today. I had myself convinced that I couldn't do hills today, so I actually walked up a few. The first three miles are downhill, and I had a really good pace going. Mile 4 is where I started to fall apart, and allowed myself to walk. Why did I do that??? What would you do differently?: Clearly I need to figure out a way to train on hills. There are some hills on my biking route, so that's what I'll have to do! Post race
Warm down: Strolled down the hill to meet my brother-in-law. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not doing my best running right now -- trying to get back into condition in this heat is tough. Our condo is on the race route, so they close the road at 6:30. We left the condo about 6:25 in order to be able to drive for a short distance on Peachtree. My husband dropped my brother-in-law and me off close the race start, and we walked the rest of the way. Got there plenty early.
Packed into the Time Group 1-b corral, so the best I could do was a little stretching.
