Swim
Comments: Very happy with my time. Goal time was 20 minutes or less. Stayed with the pack, to the left. Got tired of people doing the breast stroke kick in front of me - it was hard to pass them. Breathed on right side most of the time to get more air. What would you do differently?: Not sure. I felt good. I could have swum faster if people weren't in my way. :) Transition 1
Comments: I had a loooong way to run to bike. 500m?? T1 was as fast as I could have done, but I chose to put on bike shorts over my swimsuit so that slowed me a little. What would you do differently?: Maybe do the whole thing in my swim suit? Bike
Comments: I did awesome on the bike - 16/112 for the women. 76/217 overall (men and women) (51/105 in the men's times) I passed lots and lots of people. Must have passed 10 people going up Knox. Yeah baby! Goal time: 40:00 Goal speed: 30 kmh What would you do differently?: Not much. Be more aggressive with passing? Transition 2
Comments: Started running to wrong rack. Then ran past my towel. Dumb. What would you do differently?: Pay more attention. Run
Comments: I was going as hard as I could but it wasn't enough. My HR was 168-172 and my legs didn't hurt but they were tired. I don't think I could have run much faster. Ah well. People passed me here. What would you do differently?: Train harder I guess. I had to cut back on my running this last month due to shin splints. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate banana and graham crackers, drank water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Too slow in transition? Poor running. Event comments: The Kelowna Apple Triathlon is an excellent race. Very well-organized. Last updated: 2008-02-29 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:30am. Had a shower, ate some yogurt, finished packing up. Ready to leave at 5:45. Arrived at the site and into body marking before 6am. A kid I taught a few years ago was my marker, LOL... Set up transition and chatted with my competitors, then wandered down to the water for a warm up swim.
No wetsuit - water temp 22.8C. Got wet (brrr) then swam about 200m or so. Watched the sprint men go, then it was my turn! Didn't hear them say go, but did hear the horn and every ran into the water. Oh no, it's time!
