Pre-race routine:

Packed up night before. Up at 6am. Had yogurt, oatmeal and fruit and coffee for breakfast. Drove 1 1/2 hours to Armstrong. Chatted with friends.

Comments:

I rode hard the entire way. Tried to draft with DH whenever I could or caught on to other men in packs as they went by. Hubby waited for me a few times in the first half. We rode the second half together because there were more flats and downhills. He was on his new Madone and I was riding my old Giant OCR1.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I did the best I could.

Warm down:

Walked around a little and stretched. Ate bagel with cream cheese, banana, and oranges. Gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My age. Not enough muscle. Being female. No carbon bike.

Event comments:

I had a great time! Shave 12 minutes off last year's time too!
