Swim
Comments: Passed 2 people. First one in 2nd lap gassed me a little. Took a couple of laps to get into stride What would you do differently?: Warmed up a little more Transition 1
Comments: Had a hard time getting shoes to clip in. Also, as I was doing this, the police car directly traffic was trying to turn around (in my way) which exagerated the difficulty of getting started. What would you do differently?: Slow down a little bit and make sure to get in peoperly the first time. Bike
Comments: Chain came off while shifting toward the end of the 2nd lap. Did well to get it back on - It probably cost me about 60-90seconds (I think) What would you do differently?: Have the Bike Mechanics tweak the shifting prior to the race. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Didn't know to take feet out of shoes before finish of bike to improve dismount and then run in bare feetshoes out before finish. Run
Comments: Very gassed. Walked quite a bit more then I would have liked. What would you do differently?: Run more! Prepared with more running (although with shin splints and calves tightness that wasn't resolved until a few weeks prior tothe race, it would have been tough). Well prepared to make significant improvement in this area. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: Needed to run more. Event comments: Race was done very well. The swim was a the one weak part. I don't know how you fix it. There was a high percentage of swimmers early in the race that had no concept of what there swim time should have been. They were much slower then they signed up for. The were creating congestion in the swimming lanes. Last updated: 2008-03-02 12:00 AM

Didn't eat anything except Power Gel packet 10 minutes before swim (with no water). That was a mistake. Could have strethed more, but I didn't feel tight during race.
Forgot to bring and wear HR monitor / watch.
