Run
Comments: Faster than I expected. Legs were sore from a hard workout on Thursday but I still put in a great perforamnce. What would you do differently?: Probably wouldn't wear the skirt and hawaiian shirt if I was trying to be competative. Also needed to drink more water the morning of the race. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Legs were a little sore, aside from that just need to get faster and fitter. Event comments: Very fun race. Went up to Chico with some friends/coworkers for thsi race. We were more concerned with having a good time, drinking beer and acting like idiots than actually doing well on the race. I did the Half-Marathon relay and we ended up winning!!! Woo-hoo!!!! There wasn't exactly a lot of competition though, I think there were only 6 or 7 other men's relay teams, and 2nd place was about 15 minutes behind us, but still, it's a win!!! I got a water-bottle with 1st written on the side of it, not too spectacular but I guess I can still call it a trophy. Our team running apparel may not have been ideal for this race. The day before we went to a thrift store and we got some disgustingly ugly old stretchy skirts and clashing hawaiian shirts to wear. We were the only people in the race that dressed up, we looked like idiots, huge idiots... It was glorious. In any case it was a great race I did way better than I thought I would, especially considering I was still sore from a hard workout on Thursday. After the race we went and took a tour of the Sierra Nevada Brewery, then went to a couple bars and had a few drinks, came home for a little rest then back out for a big night of drinking and even ended up riding a mechanical bull. Great day! Last updated: 2008-03-02 12:00 AM
