Bike
Comments: Tough race. The headwind going out was atrocious and I was going over rollers at MAYBE 11mph. On the way back it was a benefit. Spent most of the time on the two smallest cogs and was maintaining 26-27 mph on the flats. Otherwise, it was a typical rolling, scenic Nathchez Trace ride. What would you do differently?: Train for it. This was simply an organized training ride for an Olympic Triathlon for me. It was also my first ever bike only race. If I had spent time focussed solely on this race, I think I could have done better, especially into the wind. Post race
Warm down: Rode on the Trace a bit more. Had a hamstring acting up so I did a good bit of stretching. Drank some water and ate two bananas. What limited your ability to perform faster: The freaking headwind for the first 12 miles. Event comments: Started 20 minutes late and all they had at the finish was blue powerade, coke, and sprite. Glad I had my water in the car. Otherwise, it was very fun, and there were some great riders there. Last updated: 2008-03-03 12:00 AM

Woke up, drank an orange juice, racked my bike on the car, grabbed my bag, then headed out the door.
Just some easy riding up and down the trace to get the legs loose. Did some back stretches.
