Swim
Comments: Felt fine on the swim and accomplished my goal of just swimming comfortably. Improved 40 secs over last years swim (that was my first tri). Came out of the water feeling good. What would you do differently?: I had trouble on the turn at the wall, I would finish near the middle of the lane and didn't have a clean push into the new lane. I need to try and move over to the far side right at the end of the lane so my push is different. Also, need to work on my pool exit. Transition 1
Comments: Over a minute improvement from last year, but last year I put on a jacket. What would you do differently?: Maybe leave shoes clipped in. Need to work on this. Bike
Comments: I was happy with the bike, I think it was either the fastest of in the top 3 of my age group. I don;t truly know because my splits aren;t on the results. towards the end of the bike, I was rolling toward the dismount and as I jumped off the bike I passed a guy standing at the dismount line. I noticed there was no beep as I crossed and I think the next mat I crossed (T2 exit) ended my bike time. So if my T2 was around a 50-60 secs, that's included in my bike time. Took off on the bike and went hard on the first loop. Avg watts were 301 for the first loop. Second loop was at 286. I got tired. overall avg was 292. Best avg watts output for me over a 30 min period and my bike time improved by about 2 mph over last year. Had one issues on the hill on the back side where my chain slipped and threw off my climb, but recovered and continued on. What would you do differently?: Maybe control effort at the beginning a little better, and work on getting on the bike out of T1. Transition 2
Comments: Decent T2 except my race belt was pulled to the largest setting. Ran out with it, then had to mess with it to make it fit as I run. Will check it next time and make sure it is set. Run
Comments: Have no run split because of T2 issue, but estimated time around 23:30 knocking over a min per mile off my last year time. Felt ok on the run, but feel I could run this closer to 22:00, I wish I knew my exact time. Don't know if the bike killed me or just wasn't my day. I'll wait and see on the next event. What would you do differently?: Not mess with the run belt. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with with everyone and waited for the finishers. What limited your ability to perform faster: I always think of a bunch of things I could do differently to shave some time off, but it is what it is, that was the best I had that day. Event comments: good race with a good atmosphere. Love the bag pipes while you wait to swim. Finish is good as well. Last updated: 2008-03-09 12:00 AM

Got up ate english muffin with peanut butter and jelly and drank water. Loaded up the bikes and gear and joined hogans and buehler for the ride out to keller.
Set up my transition, then helped robin with her first set up. She didn't really need my help, as she had it all together. We went and got marked then picked up our chips. Almost didn't have time to warm up because hogan spent about an hour in the restroom and let no one else time to, well you know. Went to the pool and swam warm up laps and discuss the turn around under the ropes with robin.
