Comments:

this is a cool 5k run by tim and nicole deboom to promote her racing skirts. all the women wear skirts and get a 3:00 head start. then all the men chase them down. the final results are listed as actual time, so the men get 3:00 added to their time and the winner takes home a prize purse.
i decided to go hard to see where my fitness is and use it as my speedwork for the week. the race started straight up a hill though and by mile 1 i was looking for an out. i thought i would just run k down and then finish with her, but when i caught her and smacked her on the ass she said she felt like crap. i decided i better just keep going and see what happens. i ended up keeping a good pace and although i was dying by the end i finished strong.
19:51 is chip time.
event time with 3:00 added was 22:51.
What would you do differently?:

pour some water on my head. i was overheating by the end.
Post race
Warm down:

went back to shower before returning for the free pizza and beer after party.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training, heat, hills.

Event comments:
