Run
Comments: Started really hard but I think it was a good thing as that allowed me to feel a comfortable gap between myself and the rest of the pack, and pushed me to keep running hard even when I just wanted to throw up. Tossed gloves around halfway point. What would you do differently?: Have the bloks a few minutes earlier so I'm not stuck trying to swallow them right before the race. I wish I could have kicked up a bit more in the last 2 km but I don't know how I could have done that. Could have gone for short sleeves I think... Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched a little. Ate a banana and drank a chocolate milk given by the Powerbar guy. Took off wet jersey and pulled on wool + big sweatshirt + pants. What limited your ability to perform faster: I don't think it would have been good for me to run faster than that considering the training I've had this year!!! Event comments: A great little run! It's nice to race with just women on the course once in a while. Last updated: 2008-03-12 12:00 AM

Race was at 9 a.m. Had a good bowl of Kashi Lean at 7 a.m. with coffee. Left home at 8:15 a.m. Had two Cliff Bloks with water right before the start.
Warmed up (just ran 400 m with pick ups) 15 minutes before the race and took of my extra layer of clothes. Jumped around to keep warm for the last 10 minutes. Located myself at the very front of the pack (scary).
