Swim
Comments: I had seeded myself at 4:50 and swam a 4:42. About what I expected, but know in a dead out TT I can go faster, so I consider this a very good seeding What would you do differently?: Nothing. I think it was about as good a performance as I will be able to do in a pool Transition 1
Comments: no T times, but the longest part was getting out of the pool area and actualy into T1. Blew by a handful of people before getting out on the road, and then was promply passed by anouther handful of people What would you do differently?: nothing. Bike
Comments: Stopped once to check on a rider. Turns out she had a heart condition and her HR would not come down. She said she was ok and ended up gettting a ride back by a good sameritin. She would not let me stay with her, and to be honest, other than she was standing on the side of the road, I would not have known there was a problem. Slowed again to make sure the route crew knew of the problem, and checked with the other rider who had stopped. I think the stops and slow downs cost me about 2 minutes, but still happy with the effort What would you do differently?: Work on the bike skills outside, and get more seat time in. Also would not have done some of my hardest and longest rides the day before and the day of the race. Transition 2
Comments: Ok transition. I got caught up in the fact my family was there and lost focus on things like getting my feet out of the shoes while on the bike. Also rusty, which is why I like C races to loosen up the cob webs. What would you do differently?: get my feet on the shoes before T2. Hi-fived the kids as I left T2 Run
Comments: Boy, my lack of running prowess and lack of focus in training realy showed it's ugly head again here. Granted I rode the last few days hard hindering my stamina, but it is not a good excuse. I know I can get back to sub 10 min miles, and with some good effort, may get my 5 k runs in under 27 minutes again. That would have been huge here as my running rank would have been in line with my other splits with a sub 28 min run. What would you do differently?: get my arse out and run. Post race
Warm down: found the family and started to get my daughter set up for her first tri. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of run training. All the extra swimming has cut into the running a bit. Hope to stabilize that soon. Event comments: I like this race for a few reasons. It is old school (no timming chips, and not very big), Very local (rode to the race), and I knew what felt like 25% of the field personaly. Last updated: 2008-03-12 12:00 AM

Woke up early to ride to the race and help set up transition. This is a local race director who is on my local club. The team helps her set up the races and put on the races
