Swim
Comments: Still waiting on time, but it felt slow to me. Then again, it was at the end of the race, and I had gone out really strong in the bike and the run. *Will update* What would you do differently?: More training; 'nuf said. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Bike felt good as a whole, and I was impressed that I was able to pick people off as I went along. JR passed me with about 1.5 miles to go, and I couldn't muster an offensive against him (he did go on to win the overall race, so I don't feel too bad ;)) I definitely don't think I lost any ground on the bike, and if I did anything, I picked it up over where I wanted to be. We shall see when the results are in, but according to my Garmin, I was around 18 mph/avg, which, if so, is about where I have been training. What would you do differently?: Not sure, but I know that more time on the bike is needed, in order to really get it down good on what I need to do. Transition 2
Comments: This was actually transition 1, due to the reserved nature of the course. Swapping to the bike was smooth, except for putting on my gloves. Next time, if I can't get them on right off the bat, bring them with me and fiddle with them while I am starting to get up to speed. Shoe swap was comfortable, helmet was easy to put on, bike run to mount line was no problem. Run
Comments: I went out a lot faster than I thought I could, and felt great doing it. Robin and I ran together for the first 60% of the race, and then I pulled away while yelling encouragement (she won her AG, so I think she did more than ok :)) If her watch is accurate, my 1 mile split was in the low 7 minutes, which is phenomenal for me at this point in my training (yes, I know, it wasn't for a 5k distance, sue me!) I couldn't catch one of my targets on the run, but I got him on the bike, so it wasn't that bad. Post race

Picked Richard up at 5:45, then drove down to the race location. After getting him checked in, we set up transition, met up with Joe, Robin and JR, then started to slowly warm up.
I ate a toasted English muffin with PB and a banana, then hydrated throughout the morning.
Being that it was cold, and that they had the run planned first, I wore my UA tights over my tri shorts and singlet. I threw on a light warmup top and was ready to go. My hope was that getting out of the tights after the bike wouldn't be that bad.
Jogging loops around the parking lot (~1/2 mile) and stretching. It was cold, so I was just trying to conserve my energy to stay warm.
The race went off in waves, based on AG, 3-min apart. I was in the third wave, so had to negotiate a few crowds. As a whole though, everyone stuck to the right.
