Swim
Comments: Great swim!!! I couldn't be happier!!! What would you do differently?: Swim more before hand. I really need more time in the water. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty slow transition. I had to put on my signature leg warmers, so it did take a little longer. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: I was trying to make it in under 50 minutes, but the wind just really got to me. I wasn't too concerned with it though, it was a pretty good ride, all ings considering. Oh, and by the way....thanks so much to the Keller Police Department for coming out. One of them literally saved my life today. There was a guy in a suburban that came flying across the street through the race lane. The policeman ran out in front of me and got the guy's attention before he hit me. He actually came within about 2 feet from my bike. I'm lucky he was watching so closely. I'm also glad I didn't slam on the breaks so hard I went flying!!! What would you do differently?: Nothing really, just get rid of the wind!!! Transition 2
Comments: Slow transition. This was the first time I have put on socks during T2. I usually put them on in T1, but with the new bike shoes I don't have to. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: It was my second best ever in a tri, and St. Paddy's last year was my PR. I love running this course. It felt really great. If the wind hadn't of been blowing so hard, I think I could have done better than last year. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Stood around and talked with Laurie, John, Andy & Drew. We waited on race results, then headed out to breakfast. What limited your ability to perform faster: The WIND!!! Event comments: I am really pleased overall. I had my best swim ever, and my second best run ever. Last updated: 2008-03-15 12:00 AM

We woke up at the crack of dawn at my parents house because my dad forgot to turn off his alarm. My parents were out of town, so he wasn't there to turn it off. I had to go in there and turn it off. Then I was nervous I was going to go back to sleep and not hear my alarm from my phone, so I kept looking at it every 5 minutes.
I ate my cliff bar for breakfast, and Andy loaded up the bike. I already had my bag packed, so we were ready to roll. Andy and Drew dropped me off at the race site so I could get racked up, and they went to get donuts.
I had to go get in line to get body marked, and 3 guys pushed their way to the front and cut in front of me....that was nice. Oh well, I had plenty of time. I had to stand in line for the body marking for well over 10-15 minutes because everyone kept trying to go around and get in the easy way. I finally got body marked and set up my transition area. I decided to head inside for a few minutes and see if the chip straps were ready. Good thing I did.....I was the 2nd person in line. After that, the line was SO long. Most people waited an average of 15-20 minutes.
After I got my chip, I headed back to transition to ditch my windsuit and pick up my swim gear. It was pretty chilly when I took all those warm clothes off, and the wind was really blowing.
No real warm-up. I found Andy and Drew, Laurie, Steve & Marcy, John, Craig and Aaron (I'm sure I'm leaving someone out) and we all hung around until the race began. John was pretty close to the front, so he had to leave really early. I was pretty near the end, so I just hung out for about an hour with them.
