Swim
Comments: Best time to date for a 300m swim. I put down 6:30 as my time for some stupid reason and had to pass, swim around and under a shit load of people. Very happy with this part of my race. What would you do differently?: Put down 5:30 as my swim time from now on. Transition 1
Comments: This was a clusterf! I felt a little winded coming out of the water and then when I got everything on and rolled off the rack with my bike, I kept hitting the button's on my Garmin so it screwed up my Multisport readings from the get go. @#$%^&!! Then I didn't know the proper way to exit T1 so I went to the end of the area and had to go to the opposite f'ing side to exit. That cost me a full minute I bet. What would you do differently?: Mount my Garmin in a better place and know where the hell the exit to T1 is! Bike
Comments: After my training ride on Wednesday with Godoggo, I was scared to death that this was going to suck but it was, surprisingly enough my best time (by 3 minutes) for a 12 mile ride. Staying down aero as much as possible helped a ton, I think. What would you do differently?: Not too much here...keep working on the bike and getting comfortable riding on my aero bars. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2 for me...best one to date. Missed my rack, initially but then I saw SuperBird right next to me in T2, so that was cool. All the Murphy and Hogan clan were there cheering us on and, like the gentleman I am, I allowed her to beat me out of T2 and start her run. Overall..very pleased with this. What would you do differently?: Not too much except know my rack position a little better. Run
Comments: I am a little disappointed with this run seeing as I did a 25:15 at St. Patty's. I don't think my legs were used to how hard I went on the bike and my run suffered, but oh well....something was bound to. I followed SuperBird out of T2 and stayed about 200 yards behind her, for the majority of the run but she left me in the last mile or so. I gave it all I had on the last 1/4 mile but I just didn't have the gas today in this phase of the race. What would you do differently?: Work more bricks in after riding hard rides to get legs used to that. Post race
Warm down: Some goofy pennant and some vitamin water then hung out with the Hogan's and Murphy's waiting for Godoggo to finish his run. Was pretty cool around the finish line...lots of people and some cute high school cheerleaders cheering everyone on. I think I saw something about a cheerleader on Redtube last week???? What limited your ability to perform faster: Not too much...this was my PR in this distance by over 4 minutes so I am stoked. Need to keep to my plan and keep training for the summer events....CapTex is next!!!! Thanks to JAH, TeeCris, Tri-Z, Fasttoad and the rest of the T3 Racing Team crew for all their support today. It's always great to see familiar faces cheering you on and pumping you up...thanks guys, it helped a ton!! Event comments: This is a nice little Sprint Tri for anyone looking for one. These guys always do a great job at their races and I highly recommend this or any other of their races to anyone. I will be back to break 1:10 in '09!! Hopefully, weather will be as nice as today...we couldn't have dialed up any nicer weather...65, sunny, light winds. Last updated: 2008-03-18 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30 and had a bowl of cereal with some blueberries in it and a glass of V8 Fusion. Took a quick shower and loaded up the bikes with PFitzger and Godoggo and left the apartment at 5:30. Got to Southlake HS at around 6:10 and aired up and went to the T area and got all set up.
I have to say that having newly shaved legs for the first time in my life is a weird feeling between the sheets. I have to get used to how they feel.
Not much to speak of. Did a couple of laps in the pool to get warmed up for the swim. Other than that it was waiting around to go swim and having 2 movements...funny how that can never happen while I am HOME before a race.
