Run
Comments: I originally signed up with this race to run with friends, and when I found myself alone for this one I figured what the hell? May as well really test myself to see where I am with my running. So that became my plan on Friday. This morning my stomach was bothering me and I just didn't feel that great, but I ignored it and packed extra TP in my Fuel Belt just in case. I felt like crap for the first few miles. The first 4 miles are pretty hilly but by the end of mile 4 I started to feel pretty good. My HR settled into a comfy mid-zone 3 and I just ran. At mile 9 I did the math and figured if I could run 9 minute miles for the rest of the race I could go sub 2 hours. After that I didn't look at my watch at all unless I was hitting the lap button and I saw my splits were all under 9 so I knew I could do it. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I did this race in 2:15 and change last year so this is a huge improvement on a tough course and a PR for this distance :). I am pleased with where my running is right now. Post race
Warm down: Had a cup of water and took off to find some lunch. I spent the rest of the day in the fetal position or in the bathroom :O. My stomach problems returned as soon as the race ended. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: This is a very basic local race (not even chip-timed) but I have no complaints. Check in was easy and I even got a nice l/s tech shirt this year! Last updated: 2008-03-19 12:00 AM

Messed with my Garmin for a few minutes until I finally found where to turn off the auto-lap feature. That was it.
