Swim
Comments: I had a pretty good swim. I didn't warm up as much as I'd like to but did pretty well regardless. I hit every bouy within a couple of feet and maintained a solid tempo. I came out of the water at 13:20 and had a little trouble with my wetsuit pull cord but got it down O.K. The hill was more problematic than the wetsuit! Dropped 1:17 from 2007 What would you do differently?: Push a little harder on the second 250. Transition 1
Comments: :17 faster than 2007 No trouble in T1 Bike
Comments: The bike went O.K. Just O.K. I felt like I was pushing but not going as fast as I wanted to. I'm a little disappointed to only drop :21 from 2007 after blowing it out at Parris Island. I really thought I would come off the bike in about 32 minutes. Maybe I was a little under trained on the bike. Oh well. What would you do differently?: Go faster! Spend more time doing intervals on the trainer Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. I actually second guessed heading out of T2 thinking I had forgotten something. :01 faster than 2007 Run
Comments: I felt pretty good heading out and focused on getting into my rhythm. I knew I was going to have to push to hit my goal (1:15:00 or better) after a slower than anticipated bike. I saw Olivier up ahead and made him my rabbit! We had been talking smack for a few days so it was good that I could get him in my sights! We passed with a high five on the dike just before the turn-around at about mile 1.5. As I came off down the hill and bottomed out, I saw him look over his shoulder and grin...he knew I was chasing and shouted for me to hurry up. I passed him just before the bridge heading back up to the wall and pushed with everything I had to empty the tanks to the finish. Finished 1:59 faster than 2007 Post race
Warm down: Spent time talking with all the peeps, ate some pizza and chocolate chip cookies! Mmmm-mmm! Event comments: I love this race! SetUpEvents rocks it out at every race! Last updated: 2008-03-20 12:00 AM

Didn't get in bed until 11:30 Friday night...was up making "mock rocks" for a science project in my wife's class...what a husband! Those kids better really enjoy breaking apart those rocks! I digress...I was sleeping really well but my eyes opened wide at 4:15! ARGH! I spent the next 45 minutes visualizing every inch of the Clemson course. I got up at 5:00 and enjoyed my normal morning routine with coffee and a bagel with peanut butter. I headed out at 5:30 and got to the race site about 6:20. Set up transition and visited a little with folks.
Quick spin on the bike, brief run to get the HR up and a little dip in the lake.
