Comments: Swam went great. Paced myself as I normally would, and my time turned out much faster then I would have expected. Investment in new wetsuit has already began paying back in time. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my speed and drafting in the water to improve my swimtimes even more Transition 1
Comments: Had a hard time getting out of the setsuit, did get stuck around the heel's ankles. Not the greatest T1 performance I have had. What would you do differently?: Get suit off quicker. Bike
Comments: It was one of those days of I couldn't get it together on the bike. Not that the ride as bad, I just felt that knowing how I ride out here in Clermont, it was not one of my best days on the bike. Also, I have noticed a rubbing sound, I couldnt quite make out what it was while riding, as it turns out the rear wheel was rubbing on the right chainstay. Dropped the bike off at the shop to get the rear wheel trued. What would you do differently?: Try to ride faster, but as I mentioned I know the courses rather well, and it was just not a great performance on the bike today. Transition 2
Comments: Went thought transition pretty good I thought it went rather well, although I know I could go faster with a few modifications to procedures in the transition area, but over all not too bad. What would you do differently?: Need to get Yanx for my shoes, I have them on my other running shoes but I did not get a set for these shoes yet. NOTE TO SELF . . . BUY YANX. Run
Comments: I had a great run where I felt good the entire distance. Except for the beginning, just getting off the bike, as normal, it took the legs about .5 mile to adjust, but once they did I was able to maintain the steady pace of right on 9min / mi. One of the best runs I have had in a while, and I hope it is a good sign of the races to come. What would you do differently?: I would like to train to get the speed of my run up to more in line with the 35-39 Age Groupers. The average times for the age group's top 20 was about a 6:50. I need to work on the run and increase my speed. Post race
Warm down: Rested under the tents, drank some water, took in Banana, grapes and jelly on a mini-bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think the limiters at this point in time is that it being the first race of season, I will perform better as the season moves forward. It was a good race to gauge my winter training and based on that I see a huge improvement that the winter training has provided. Event comments: Beat my time on this course from the the last time I raced this exact course in 2006 by over 20min. Last updated: 2008-03-20 12:00 AM

Woke up, at the normal pre-race meal, Cheese Pizza (cold) got all my stuff together, loaded bag and bike and headed to Clermont @ 5:45am.
