Run
Comments: Wow, this was an awesome experience for me. Also, I was running with a friend who chose this as her first running race ever! I paced her at an 11:30/12:00 min mile and we stuck together for the first 7-8 miles. At that point, I was starting to run out of gas.... I took a gel around mile 5 and maybe I shoulda taken another at mile 8. I ran/walked the last 2 miles. What would you do differently?: Well, this distance is a stretch goal for me. So, honestly I am just psyched that I made it to the shipyards! But, I know i can eventually run the entire distance. SO, I guess, keep training. Post race
Warm down: Walked around to cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: Fitness level. Running is tough for me. I need to just 'keep at it'! Event comments: There was a perfect amount of drink stations. The Broad St run is almost an institution in Philly - so all sorts of organizations show up to play music, hand out water, cheer.... it was a great experience for me. I'd definitely do it again, as long as I was feeling good about my ability to finish the entire course again. Last updated: 2008-03-26 12:00 AM

Ate a bagel on the way up to the race, and sipped water.
none, really - unless you count using my core strenth not to smash into the people around me during the subway ride up to the start!
