Pre-race routine:

All I had time to do once I got down to the race start was try to make it through the crowd to the baggage check-in. That took me forever.
Event warmup:

What warmup? The first 2 miles were my warm-up.
Run
  • 1h 59m 39s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

My knees hurt me as well as my calves. They are still tight from Tuesday's sprint workout. I ran with Laura E. from Emory and she kept me between a 9-10 min pace and I sprinted the last mile to make it under 2 hours.
What would you do differently?:

The only problems I had were carrying my accel gels. At first I had them tucked in my pants(i had no pockets) but they started chafing me, so I ended up just carrying them.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking around trying to get food and my bag.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. I need to do some pace work where I run at a set pace for a while. Like having markers set up every so often so I know where I am and how fast I am going.

Event comments:

This race sucked. It was not well organized or laid out. Everyone was just crammed into the streets and nobody could get through to their corral, let alone find where their corral was. The baggage checking sucked and when we went to go pick up our bags the lines were insanely long.
