Swim
Comments: I felt very confident in the water. I was not being passed by everyone and I was overtaking some people. Siting the buoys was good. I also swam very straight without going crazy crooked like I used to do. What would you do differently?: I rubbed a soar on the back of my neck with my wet suit. I would put body glide on my neck. I tried putting dish soap in my goggles but it didn't keep them from fogging up. I would try it again but this time actually rubbing the soap on the lenses as well as not rinsing them out 3 seperate times. Transition 1
Comments: The wetsuit got stuck on my heels but I was able to get it off easily. The transition area was just huge and it took forever for me to get to and from my rack to the entrance. I had a hard time getting started and my feet on my shoes. it also took me a while to actually get my feet in my shoes. What would you do differently?: Look into how to use the rubberbands like Honeycutt shoed me. Putting them on the heals to keep them up. Bike
Comments: I did not have alot of power. Even on the hills trying to crank it out was difficult. What would you do differently?: I have spent the past few months training for swimming and running and I have ignored the bike. Well now I know that I can't do that and expect to not get slower. Transition 2
Comments: It was cold outside and when I jumped off the bike my legs were very wobbly. I got to the rack fine but I decided to wear socks and they were difficult to put on. My feet were numb and still damp so they did not want to go on. Once I had them on tho it was simple to slide on my shoes and go. What would you do differently?: I need to try keeping a quick dry towel in my transition area so i can dry my feet quickly and easily put on my socks. I think that the time it takes to wipe off my feet will be shorter than the time it takes to wrestle with my socks. Run
Comments: My feet were numb from the bike when I started running so it felt like I was running with a huge lump in my shoe. After two miles it felt normal. Even though the weather was nice and not too hot by the time I got to the run about half way through the run I dumped cold water on my head and it made me feel better. I dumped a cup at every waterstation after that one. What would you do differently?: Do more bricks prior to the race. Post race
Warm down: Walking and standing What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor training. Event comments: Team Magic put on an amazing race. There were hundreds of volunteers and there were cops everywhere. There were also guys walking around picking up all of the trash that the athletes left everywhere. The packets we got at the beginning were really good. Last updated: 2008-03-27 12:00 AM
