Comments:

Felt very good through the first two miles and was surprised to see that I actually was ahead of my goal pace of 10 min miles. Water was in good spots and the course was well taken care of by the Scituate PD. The hill at the Reservoir was almost a heartbreaker as my fourth mile was at a depressing 12:30!! The next few miles had a slight down hill and I was able to rattle off enough 9:30s to take back my sub 10 min goal.

EDIT: Finished DFL in my age group....AWESOME!
What would you do differently?:

Not much today. It was nice to see my mile times drop from the Q Point race and this course was definately harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Tried not to throw up all over the parking lot.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

What the hell kind of question is that? Can't you see I have weight to lose?

Event comments:

Three words: Italian Wedding Soup. Nice food and drink selection. Bathrooms were somewhat...ahem...limited. Otherwise this was a great tune up race for the Cox Rhode Races HM. Building towards the RI 70.3 HIM in July.

Performance: Good
Course: Course started on Danielson Pike and quickly turned into a very nice and scenic neighborhood. The course then followed an access road through the Scituate Reservoir management area. At route 14 the route cut across the Reservoir to a hill that the race organizers decribed as "challenging." I learned quickly that this was code for "forget personal goals for the day." The rest of the course was north on Rt 116, a nice rolling country road until turning back onto Danielson Pike.
