Swim
Comments: Best swim to date. I felt confident and relaxed. I really think I could have swam much faster, but I wanted to be focus on form. Also, this was the first race my goggles did not fog at all, not even after being kicked right square in the face. What would you do differently?: A little off course once, could have drafted a little better Transition 1
Comments: Long transition (distance), I had to fight opening a cliff bar What would you do differently?: Have cliff bar already open. I need to learn to get into shoes while they are on the bike. Bike
Comments: Best race pace to date, my goal was to average 21 mph, missed by a few, but overall, I am happy with my ride. Not much to say, it was a rather uneventful bike leg where I work. What would you do differently?: I ate too much for breakfast, it started coming out during lap three. I am switching back to a peanut butter english muffin Transition 2
Comments: Considering the length, the transition was not that bad... Run
Comments: Here is where my race fell apart! It was HOT and I was tired, all those people I passed on the bike, passed me on the run. I don't think it was "hitting the bike too hard." I think it was my lack of running and bricks. I have focused so much on improving my swim and bike, I have neglected running overage amounts...BAD ANTHONY... What would you do differently?: Run more, longer sustained distances/ Post race
Warm down: Find wife, keep wet cold towel on head. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of running distances greater than 6 miles. Event comments: Great race Last updated: 2008-03-29 12:00 AM
