Pre-race routine:

Up for a pre-race breakfast of PB on toast and a banana.
Event warmup:

Quick warmup lap to get the blood flowing. It was cold and rainy so I just tried to keep moving until race start.

Warm down:

Warm down jog follwed up with lots of grub and a nice long stretch.

Event comments:

Other than the cold and the rain this was a fun event. Purdue Pete was there. The Boilermaker Special started the race with some toots from the train whistle. The even had one of the Purdue choirs there at the start to sing the National Anthem. I was really happy with my finish time. I went much faster than I expected to! I kind of had to laugh at placing in my age group. I think all the other 30-34 year olds were doing the walk not the run!

Course: We started off with a bang - big downhill next to Ross-Ade Stadium. No trouble getting up to speed! Nothing to crazy after that. There seemed to be a lot of uphill running. But it was a quick downhill back to the finish line. It made it look like I had some kick left at the end!
