Pre-race routine:

Up at 4am and rolling by 4:30 w/ Julia and the boys. Had the standard breakfast of Champions - Coffee, PB&J & a Banana. Thanks to Ted and Susan for lugging the gear and setting up the tent.
Event warmup:

5 min run before transition closed and a 5 min swim before the gun.

At my level of training, this was a good swim. I felt strong, stayed on course and managed to stay with Dillard for the 1st couple hundred yards.
What would you do differently?:

Work on finding feet to draft off of.

I got new bike race shoes today (Monday). This will help my transitions by keeping my shoes on the pedals. Not putting on bike shoes is one less thing to do.

Not a bad run but I have yet to go under 24 minutes on a 5K run off the bike. This continues to be a short term goal. I had a strong finish which makes me feel I left a little on the table.

It's all about the training - which I don't do enough of.
