Pre-race routine:

Winds were around 6-8mph, crosswinds on the bridge. We got up at 5:45 to leave at 6:00, ate bagels and drank some water.
Event warmup:

We did not warm-up at all, just waiting for the gun to go off.

Comments:

This race is for walkers, mostly. I signed up for a runner corral and from the time we crossed the mat, there were walkers walking in the running corral and this continued for the entire race. Walkers taking up the entire race route, all sides. They should have signed up and started back from where the walkers corral was, not in the beginning. This is the reason I didn't get my PR. There were times where the bridge was so congested, I couldn't get around the walkers. It's really the only downside to this race. Don't expect a PR.

I, on the other hand, had a good race.
What would you do differently?:

I would sign up as a under hr runner, even though hubby did this and encountered the same situations.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WALKERS in the running corral. Need I say more?

Event comments:

The only thing I think they need to work on for this race is the amount of walkers that are mixed in with the runners.

Course: This race is great! Course is awesome. You hit the bridge at about mile 2, and it's up and over for a little over 2 miles. So, the first 2 are in Mt Pleasant and the last 2 ish miles are in downtown Charleston.
