Swim
What would you do differently?: Be more agressive in tapping someone I want to pass. I might have gained about 30-50 seconds if I did, but I also thought I might burn up my reserves too early so I paced myself. have the confidence to go ahead and do it! Continue to work on freestyle technique and breathing to bring my times down. Transition 1
Comments: Nervous about walking in cycling shoes. Worked fine at the dismount so I should have been running here and shaved off another 30 seconds or so. What would you do differently?: Run through T1 with the bike. Bike
What would you do differently?: Hammer it a little harder next year. Buy some aero bars. They would have helped into the wind! Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Try pulling my feet out of the shoes and running bare footed to the rack. Practice getting into running shoes a bit faster Run
What would you do differently?: Pretty good run. train more for the next one. More speed work to get times down a bit more. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Crappy breathing technique in the pool. That's the #1 goal for future training is to work on the swim times! Aero bars would help on the bike and more training time and speed work on the bike. More speedwork on the run training. Event comments: First Tri and it was great! I'm hooked to find more. Build my swim confidence and find an Oly and then work towards a HIM. Last updated: 2008-04-07 12:00 AM

Oatmeal, bananna, wheat toast with peanut butter, 3 glasses of water and a glass of milk. Cup of coffee on the ride down. All about two hours before my heat start time.
Stretch and flex both at home and prior to the race. It was great talking to other first timers and knowing I wasn't all on my own out there.
