Not much, just tried to stay warm. Temp was about 52-53 at race time.

Comments:

Swam fine until I caught the guy in front of me and tried to pass. I got all messed up, swallowed water & lost my breath. I just never recovered, even though the rest went okay. I just lost my rhythm & couldn't get it back.
What would you do differently?:

Swim with other people more to get used to problems, and swim slower at first.

Stomach felt horrible & got a cramp in my left calf almost immediately. Didn't push much until the last couple miles because I just didn't want to blow up. Passed several, didn't get passed by anybody.
What would you do differently?:

Ride harder. I could have gone with 5-10 bpm higher hr than I planned, but I didn't blow up, and it was my first tri.

Ran easy for first mile, moderately hard the 2nd. Felt good, just stomach trouble.

Don't hold back on a 2 mile run

Upset stomach, lack of group swimming, fear of blowing up

Event comments:

Nice race, well run. Goodie bag a little light for the price (race belt-no shirt). Decent food, drinks, etc. Very friendly group (Sunrise Triathlon Club).
