Run
Comments: First mile was rather quick for me (8:20). The temperature was a factor after training for the last four months in sub 45 degree weather. What would you do differently?: Hard to say as my goal is training for a HIM in July. Training as hard as I am has an impact on my energy level during the racea, although the 8:40 pace was the fastest I have run since 2005...I can't complain too much. WEIGHT is still a major factor. I was definately the heaviest guy on the course (5-9, 244). Need to get below 220 or I will be a +25 minute guy for the forseeable future. Post race
Warm down: Walk around in circles. What limited your ability to perform faster: Why do you keep asking this question. I am a FAT BASTARD and I need to drop more LBs. Event comments: Not an overly fast field but definately deep given the size of the race. There was a heath fair after the race so there was a lot of healthy food and drinks. Can't beat a Vitamin water and a water bottle being handed to you as you exit the finish chute. Good raffle too. Nice race to get into the season. Last updated: 2008-04-12 12:00 AM

Weigh in with the rest of the fat boys...down to 244. A new low! No pre-race nutrition or hydration. May have contributed to fatigue. Light run before leaving the house (1/2 mile).
Jog approx 2/3 mile followed by strech.
