Pre-race routine:

Woke at 4am warmed up my starbuck skim mocha. ate banana and slice of peanut butter toast.Packed up car and left for race at 4:30 am. Had a hard time finding parking spot. Set up tran, had a great spot.No problem finding it next to a large pay here sign.
Event warmup:

nothing just watched the pro's. Wave was 20 min behind. checked out water. It was warm and I had on wetsuit 76. did a bit of breast stroke and sat in water air was to cold and waited till we had to line up. I wasn't to nervous because It did not look to far and I thought I could swim the distance.
Swim
  • 19m 5s
  • 704 yards
  • 02m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

I am pretty happy with swim. It was faster then what I thought it would be. I did not mind having people around. I swam really close to the orange balls so it was really tight w people . I would move farther out next time. 402 out of 510 for females.
What would you do differently?:

I would try to do less breast stroke and not hold out so long and really try to push it. I waited to long for I wasn't to sure of distance. I rate my swim good (for me )for I really do suck at this. I kinda enjoyed the swim today. Lots of room to improve
Transition 1
  • 04m 16s
Comments:

long way to trans. I took my time didn't want to forget anything. My bike comp, was messed up. I was trying to reset but could get it to work. no socks
What would you do differently?:

forgot to reset bike comp. I didn't having any idea what I was doing on bike. no miles posted. I also had a hard time getting my shoes clipped on
Bike
  • 54m 47s
  • 15 miles
  • 16.43 mile/hr
Comments:

I rode pretty comfortable for I had only biked the race distance once. I had a hard timekeeping pace. I would get going at a good pace but I always had to brake on turns. Lots of sharp tight turns. I turn real wide and have to slow down to much, it really cut into my avg. 237 place out of 510 females
What would you do differently?:

bike more miles, work gear changes. more time on bike
Transition 2
  • 02m 14s
Comments:

went smooth. I felt hungry, no socks grab water bottle
What would you do differently?:

have garmin reset and ready to go. yup I forgot.
Run
  • 23m 43s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 07m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

I thought I should of been able to go faster but wasn't feeling it
36 place out of 510 females
What would you do differently?:

have garmin set
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

confidence and inexperience, more time on bike and ows

Event comments:

189 out of 510 females. I am pretty happy with this
I loved it and look forward to the next time I can race
