Run
Comments: Started off smooth and easy. Around mile 19-23 was harder than I could have imagined! I was in so much pain it almost felt good. What would you do differently?: Not much. Train smarter and add more tempo runs. I was only 17 so sub 4 hours was great for me. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for about ten minutes. Trying to loosen up the legs. My friends and family was there so we all hung out after for a while. Ate some food and drank alot of water. Waited for the awards ceremony and collected my 2nd place trophy for my age group. What limited your ability to perform faster: Speed and experience. Also possibly more long runs of 23+ miles. Event comments: Overall a great first marathon Last updated: 2008-04-16 12:00 AM

Woke up around 5a.m ate a bagel and some fig newtons then drove to Buffalo to wait around for the race to begin. It was about 2 hours before the gun went off and my nerves were at an all time high.
Light stretching, I didnt really want to run because it was my first marathon and I was hoping to just finish.
