Pre-race routine:

Up with my brother, he had to go to the airport get his luggage. Had some toast and juice. Coffee shop closed. Tried to eat a little more. Gotta learn to fuel a little.
Event warmup:

Stretched a little and run with Mike and Ken
Run
  • 31m 23s
  • 3.73 miles
  • 08m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Didn't know what to think of a goal. Was thinking under 30 would be good. I figured if I finished running that would do too. Started out half back with Mike to my side. That didn't last long. Could see the three moving farther ahead. Kept Heather in sight till the last half mile. First hill didn't feel to bad but didn't run it like last year. 8/min first mile OK I'll take that. The blister stayed under control had a little calf cramped in my right leg. Had a 26:10 5K which was better then yesterday yeah. Finished well.
What would you do differently?:

Not have a blister for a week.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a little.
I was crowned the victor of the Big loser contest. It was a tough 8 weeks back and forth on loss but we both finished down. I was rewarded a lovely tiara and enjoyed wearing it home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Right calf cramp and blister

Event comments:

Nice little run with a big reward after!
