Swim
Comments: This was my fist tri and have only seen pool swims where you have your own lane. It seemed very congested the entire time. I had to stop at least 4 times in my lane because I caught someone. It seemed many people were not very honest in their swim times which made the whole pool very congested. What would you do differently?: Hard to tell, since I had to stop so much. Felt really good out there when I was swimming seemed like I only took 2 breaths each 25. Transition 1
Comments: A bit cold coming out of the building, jogged into T1. Debated with the socks beforehand. Ended up putting them on. Didn't have my Tri singlet yet so just put on a jersey, didn't have any problems with the socks or jersey. I think I beat quite a few out of T1 that were in my swim grouping. What would you do differently?: Would save a bit more time if I had a tri singlet, picking up one this week. Maybe try riding without socks more. Bike
Comments: I passed quite a few people, good ego boost to be #122 in the swim and pass some 40's and 50's out there. Was funny when I got dusted by a guy on a hybrid. I was moving along pretty well and he passed and I never saw him again. This was what I though would be my strength and I did pretty well overall I think. It did start raining pretty good by about the 5th mile and kept raining the rest of the race, my hands were numb when I got off the bike but I felt pretty good otherwise. What would you do differently?: I think I was a bit overconfident on my bike conditioning. Need to just get out there and ride with a higher pace. Transition 2
Comments: Lol, not sure if I was allowed to jog out so I ended up walking. Moved pretty quickly, took off bike shoes, slipped on running shoes and threw on a hat Lol 17th in T2 time... What would you do differently?: Figure out if you are allowed to jog out of T2. Run
Comments: Run was very short my legs didn't even seem to warm up until I was ready to cross the finish line. I did walk for a few seconds up one hill but felt my legs un-numbing and didnt' want that. Was able to almost sprint across the finish line. What would you do differently?: Learn what my pace is and don't save so much up for the end. Post race
Warm down: Walked around with family for a bit then had to ride the bike about 2 miles back to Worldgate. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not sure I could have done much better, swim was a hassle and wasn't quite as fast on the bike as I would have liked but still pretty good for my first one I think. Event comments: Other than the snake swim everything went pretty smoothly. plenty of police and volunteers out there to help. Last updated: 2008-04-23 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:00, quick shower and out the door
Ran from T1 to car a couple times to get the blood moving. Also did a 50 in the pool to check out the water and make sure my goggles didn't fill up.
