Swim
Comments: The wave was pretty well balanced for swim time, with the exception of one lane-mate. He was very courteous at letting us pass and it was a really good swim. I just kept the toes of the gal in front of me in sight, and she maintained enough pace to push off just before I came into the wall. I felt very relaxed and strong, and the lanes felt much better, as did the ability of my lane-mates to hold pace. I was relaxed enough to actually have a pretty good idea of what lap I was on. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Reach T-1 behind lane-mates and left before them. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Very pretty course with some great downhills. Some tight corners that made for some quick braking. What would you do differently?: Little higher cadence at start. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Learn to get feet out of shoes and ride on the tops. I only managed to get one foot out, so I ran in with one on and one off. :) Run
Comments: Legs felt fatigued at first. Got off the bike with calves wanting to cramp up. After the first 200 yards I was fine. What would you do differently?: Gotta figure out better lacing on the Yankz. They've been too tight and too hard to get in to. They feel fine once I get going, but I need them looser for getting in to. Post race
Warm down: Walk for warm-down. Drink water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Legs seemed tired from the get go. Lighter Bike? :) Event comments: This is a well run race for been in their 4th year. Volunteers were plentiful, and law enforcement was at key points to allow everyone to race without stopping or fear of traffic. These guys do a great job! It's no wonder it sells out so fast.
