![]() Run
Comments: The start was a little crazy because there were tons of people crammed behind the starting line in no particular pace order. I tried to get toward the front 1/3 or so but then we had to keep moving back to make room for more people. So, the first 1/4 mile was running around people and squeezing through bodies. My "coach" (Dave) said that I should go out sorta hard for the first mile, settle in for the second and be "bleeding out my eyes" for the third....I think that I was! :-) Thanks hon! What would you do differently?: Get more toward the front of the pack. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Stretching and walking around the expo. What limited your ability to perform faster: Only the crowd for the first part but then I seemed to make up for it....guess that's all if anything. Event comments: This was probably the most organized race that I have been in. Good pre-race info, goodies, volunteers, expo...I was impressed. I'll be doing this one again. **You will notice that I changed the distance for the run....The website changed the distance to 2.8 miles when results were posted. Funny how prior to the race, the website said that the course was USATF Certified 5K......humm, kinda bums me out a little because I didn't do as great as I though. Last updated: 2008-04-26 12:00 AM

Got up early, had some cereal and coffee and got my stuff together for the race.
Walked from the car to the race start (about 1/2 mile) then did an easy 1/2 mile jog and some stretching.
