Run
Comments: I am guessing the runs were long- almost everyone had 23-24 minutes.... I got a first wave- which was kinda cool. But Im maybe not quite fast enough to start in a first wave. Pretty much let the speedys go and just tried to keep them within eye distance. Felt reallly goos running though- very controlled and for sure not killing myself. Im pretty sure I had about an even 7:20 pace. More hills then I remember too. But that was OK- I am good at hills now!! What would you do differently?: nothin- coulda maybe ran harder- but was an ok effort for this race Transition 1
Comments: BLAH- notto great of a T1- they dont have any times posted - thats probaly good. Put on my helmet and unracked my bike and my husband is yelling at me..... "shoes girl- change your shoes!" Oh yeah- good plan :) Had a sucky bike mount too What would you do differently?: pulll my head out of my butt and do it right Bike
Comments: Had a nice start- but before we even got to mile 5 there was a train going thru the course. Were problay 5 people there when I got there and probaly 15 when we left. Was Ok- to get a breather and some GE:) SO when the train cleared a whole pack of people kind of formed a peleton (fast people- I was in wave 1 remember) and I kind of styed away from it- what the hell good is that going to do me? Then after about a minute- I said what the heck am I doing and tried to catch them- but couldnt- oh well.... Ill be Little Miss good triathlete. We had a strong headwind at this time. I was probaly ALONE on the course for about 12 miles...kinda hard to race when there is no one around to race with. So is it better to have a crowded bike course- like when you start in the last wave or empty when youstrt with the speedsters??? On the was back in it was FUN.. I was going like 27 on a straightway. Finally some guys form the nexy waves passed me- good to know I was on course though :) What would you do differently?: ugh- not very happy with my bike pace.... I know Im not that great with wind- but I should be puttingup a faster pace then that. They did knock 3 minutes of for the train though- which was cool. Transition 2
Comments: another crappy transition. I ranwith my Zoots and the heal tab got turned under my shoe whn I tried getting them on it took FOREVER to get it right. What would you do differently?: learn how to get my shoes on :) Run
Comments: Felt Ok running again- guess I was kinda slow. Finally saw people on the course though- a few anyway. I passed people on the hills too. What would you do differently?: Shoulda pushed harder- I had a lot left in me when I was done. think I ran sort of cautiously- I didnt want to fade out to quickly- Withtaking tha from month off running from mid march to mid april I wasnt sure how fast I still was. I went and ran 4 more miles with the kds on their bikes when I got home so definitly should have put more into it. Post race
Warm down: Nothin- got some food- hung with the kids and Ted, Scooby and Jmwebs waiting for the results. The kids were dissapoited I didnt get a trophy...sorry guys! 4th is good- esp in this AG. and it was just alittle pracitce run. Took 5 minutes off fromlast year too.... not sure where- probaly the bike. What limited your ability to perform faster: knee? Event comments: It was fun and turned out to be a nice day. Could done better- but all is good Last updated: 2008-04-27 12:00 AM
