Age Group Rank = 143/283
Pre-race routine:

Today was very relaxed. Did everything with time. Added a bagle to my oatmeal. Was relaxed for the start.
Event warmup:

Walk to the start from hotel.
Swim
  • 28h 49m
  • 1640 yards
  • 1h 45m 24s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Swim Straigt. Do not get spooked with shoulder. Will save time and energy and more efficient.
Transition 1
  • 03m 26s
Comments:

Yvonne strapped my wet suit correctly and it was great to just unzip quickly. What a difference.

I ran quickly, short steps, fast turnover to my spot.

Did not hall ass through the process of getting bike gear on. Did not want to fall or loose my rhythm. Took a little longer because of wetsuit.
What would you do differently?:

Practice taking off wetsuit a little quicker.
Bike
  • 1h 10m 50s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.05 mile/hr
Comments:

Great ride. Started strong, too strong, My HR was in the 170's. Brought it down immediately. Focused on less cadence more power. took me a while to get use to the big ring. Probaly about 5 miles. But then rode hard but got use to it, did not think of it again.

Focused on doing my ride, not taking off with anyone even though I wanted to. Ride went like I wanted it. Hard but not too hard where I would not be able to run after.

I drank the complete bottle with carbo pro. Will post calories tomorrow.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 02m 53s
Comments:

I ran it in with quick short steps.

Again wanted to keep my rhythm. So went a fast as I could with out having a chance of falling. This T2 I also put on socks. Was tired from the the bike and the run in with the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Practice to do it faster
Run
  • 58m 24s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

Great run. Running faster after swim and bike. Was able to do 9:24 Min/Miles.

I am learning to start slow and gradually pick it up untill I can maintain a certain level.

I felt like puking in the run 2 or 3 times. Would take 2 or 3 sips of water at all water stations.

Overall happy how my running is coming around. First time I break 10 minute miles in race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:
