Swim
Comments: The swim was rough! I should of done more openwater ocean swims to practice. Once we swam past the pier it get really choppy. I swam over a lot of people including Mr. Rigsby! I did a good job sightening on the way out and across but on the way back I swang out pretty wide of the bouyes. When I excited the water I thought that swim was tough and took a lot out of me. What would you do differently?: I would practice more openwater swims before hand with my wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Transition went great. My wet suit flew off and I grabbed my helmet and glasees and got then on my head without too much of a battle. Grabbed my bike and was on my way. Did a flying start even though my rubberband was too tight and my shoe was a little too high - I still pulled it off. What would you do differently?: Check the elasticity of my rubber band first! Bike
Comments: I wanted to push my bike today and I felt like I did. I went out hard on the straights because I knew that was my opportunity. Half thru the course I found a guy to ride with and I used him to focus on. I didn't want to let him out of me sights and he helped push me. I wanted to avg 21mph and I got that avg on my garmin so I was excited. What would you do differently?: Nothing, this was a pretty solid time for me Transition 2
Comments: Great Transition! Run
Comments: This was a tough run for me because I started in the Charity Division so I didn't have my gae group competition to compete with and push me. I had to just mentally push myself. From the first mile I didn't feel that great and had some negative thoughts ( "I want to stop now, I am not having fun - salty") But I pushed thru and around mile 3 I saw some elite women ahead ( they had started in a wave before me) so I foucused on hawking them down and that helped push me. I ended up spriting in my finish to catch a one mroe elite. (Now the elites I caught were clearly older than me but it still made me feel good) What would you do differently?: Eat more and drink more Post race
Warm down: I had a good race. I was disapointed early one because I had to race in the charity division and not my aghe group. I tried to change it to start with my age group but the race officals said no. So I got first place in charity with a time of 2:24:02. This time would of put me in first place for my age group too. But since my age group's wave started signifigantly later than mine, I have no idea if I could of had the same time later in the day when it got hotter. I am still glad I was able to raise the money for PCF ( I was their number one donater) but I would of really liked to compete in my age group. Well I can next year. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think because I was not with my age group competetion I had a harder time racing the run - but this could just be an excuse too. Event comments: Great race - very well organized. I would love to do it again Last updated: 2008-04-28 12:00 AM

We woke up early and I a hummas sandwich, my favorite - yummy. Then off to transition to set up. Transition was a zoo! Then we took the long walk to the swim start. Next year I will get some dollar flip flops to wear because it was a long hike. Then I began the task of putting on my wet suit.
I only had time for a little swim so not much of a warm up. Isn't that what the swim is for anyway?
