Swim
Comments: was in a lane with some fast swimmers and I think I shot out of the cannon a little too hard and was pushing it by the end. What would you do differently?: race my own pace Transition 1
Comments: the transitions are calculated into the run and bike What would you do differently?: set up my shoes a little more efficiently. Bike
Comments: it was cool starting out, but it quickly warmed up. Plenty of volunteers! MY legs started cramping up just a few miles into the race, my calves felt like rocks. I couldn't push nearly as hard as I had wanted due to the legs, but they eventually loosened up enough for me to finish okay. What would you do differently?: Would have worn more foot protection! I didn't know it until I dismounted the bike, but my toes were completely frozen. Sucked for the first few hundred yards of the run. Try and figure out why I cramped so bad and not do that again Transition 2
Run
Comments: the runn was okay, dealt with more cramping so much that I had to stop and stretch out my calves. The run was pretty through forest and fields. What would you do differently?: Mile markers would have been an added bonus. Post race
Warm down: bagel and water at the end aid station What limited your ability to perform faster: cramping, cramping, cramping Event comments: I really liked this race, I have only done the late bird last year and now this one. Its fun to work out the cobwebs of a long winter with a (somewhat) easy race. The volunteers were great and it must take a ton of work to keep this thing running as smoothly as it does. I would reccomend it to anyone. Last updated: 2008-04-29 12:00 AM

Woke up, ate a small breakfast about 3 hours prior to race start. Got to the race, set up transition area, then did about five minutes of warm up running and stretches before doing a few laps in the pool to get me going.
