Pre-race routine:

Up at 5:40 for coffee and a bagel w/ PB. We were lucky enough to have Sissy arrange a school bus to drop us off right near the start and get us from the finish. We met at the school at 6:30 and were on our way. The bus literally dropped us off at the start. We hit the port-o-potties and found an empty spot to hang out and chat.
Event warmup:

Not much warm up. We stuffed all of our clothes into Brad's backpack to check. It was a little chilly at first, but I knew I'd be hot if I ran in long sleeves. Said goodbye to Doug and Brad and Sissy and I went into the HS track area to find a short line for the port-o-potties. We cut it a little close and had to walk up on the sidewalk to find our way to a spot between to 9 and 10 minute miles. No other real warm up than huddling with random people.

Comments:

Started out at a comfortable pace feeling good. My running skirt was annoying the heck out of me as it kept sliding down a bit. Once I got sweaty, it stayed put. The miles honestly ticked away and went by really fast. Sissy and I would go in spurts of talking and no-talking. We did count the McDonalds down Broad Street and I think the final number was 7 on the course. We hit mile 5ish and Sissy said she was hurting. Near City Hall, we stopped to stretch/get a breather. We started walking again and decided that she needed to get some calories in to bring her up mentally and physically. Sissy was excited to hi-5 the mayor and we kept on going. from mile 5-9 we did a run/walk combo between water stops. I took at GU at mile 6ish as I didn't want to hit a wall and break down. At mile 9, Sissy said she wanted to run the rest so we did and kicked it up the last .15 mile for a strong finish. Not only was this a fun run with Sissy, but the course was great being a slight downhill. There were a lot of people out cheering on the runners...people going to church, bands, random people singing or playing an instrument, etc. We even saw doctor's from the local hospitals who brought out a patient or two.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. It was a great race!
Post race
Warm down:

We stood in line for 10-15 minutes for our food bag before finding the rest of our crew at the family meeting area. After everyone was accounted for, we walked the 2 or so miles to our bus.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing...great company and a fun race!

Event comments:

This was a great race I will do again. It was on time, had lots of volunteers, was a great course and had good post-race food bags.
Cons were the picking up of the food bags was a total CF. No one knew what was going on and it was very unorganized. They also need more port-o-potties.
We were somewhat spoiled as we had a bus to drop us of and pick us up so I can't give feedback on the transportation provided by the race.
