Run
Comments: I inadvertently set a 5K PB. Oops! I went out too hard, no doubt. What would you do differently?: I guess I could try to pace myself a little better, but it all worked out so whatever. Transition 1
Comments: Duathlon T1s are easy! No wetsuit, just change shoes, put on helmet, and go. My clip-in was the best I have ever done in a race! What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Last year at this race I flatted after the first major climb and ended up DNF'ng, so my main goal was to finish the entire bike course. This course was not easy. It was climb after climb for much of the first half (maybe more). I just focused on going as hard and fast as I could. I felt pretty whipped for a while until the uphills finally turned into downhills and I could catch my breath. I learned that this is exactly what I DON'T want to do at Lake Placid ;). Hard but fun. What would you do differently?: I dunno, maybe not go so hard? But again, it all worked out. Transition 2
Comments: Another speedy T2. Racked bike, removed helmet, changed shoes, took a swig of water and ran off. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I knew this was going to hurt. I killed myself on the 5K and the bike, so what did I expect? But I ran a lot faster than I expected so it's all good. What would you do differently?: I did the best I could. Post race
Warm down: Hung out and waited for awards. I was 1 out of 4 for my AG. Not a huge turnout for my AG but #1 is the best I could have placed so I can't complain. What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing Event comments: They need to rent a few more portolets. Other than that this is a great event. Last updated: 2008-05-05 12:00 AM

Left the house around 6, stopped at Starbucks, rolled into Gbury around 6:45. Portolet X2, set up transition, talked with C, my parents, Rob and Meredith, Pam and Dave.
Running back and forth from transition to the start because I kept forgetting stuff.
