Comments:

Started out fast and tried to slow down knowing that I probably could not hold that. Got comfortable around the 7:50-8:05 pace for a couple of miles. Had to remind myself that the point of today was to go for it and be a feel the pain. So I kept going knowing that things could get tough and I would have to work through it. The hills took their toll and the last 2 miles were not good. I had a hard time talking myself through the mental aspect. and obviously the time shows it. Need to work on running through that level of discomfort. Wasn't so much pain, more discomfort all over, cramping in stomach, leg turn over slowing but trying to make it faster, focusing and concentrating was hard. Bad mental focus came through.

Overall this was a fabulous pace for me, but I really had my mind set on 1:45. So I am a little disappointed. I know that is sad since I did PR, but I guess I was expecting more out of myself. I realized I have to do some work on the mental aspect if I want to BQ.

3 gus/water and g-ade on course

243/1386 OA
57/537 AG (F 1-39) [8th if the AG was 35-39)
What would you do differently?:

start out slower and pickup pace.
Post race
Warm down:

walked to 7/11 and got a coke, first since February. then walked to car and drove home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

pacing

Event comments:

This was the first year so I have to give them slack, but they had not enough port-o-potties, started late, cups on course were plastic so if you pinched they broke (plus not green), no food at end only water.

It is a nice course but tough.
