Comments: Kept a good pace for me, not too fast. Easy to keep cool with the temperature at only about 8C and 30-40 km/h winds. What would you do differently?: Run went smoothly, did fine for my level of training. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Bike course went well. Managed the first few hills quite well. The heavy, gusty winds became more of a problem as I got closer to the turn around. Ride back was fantastic, well worth the hard slog to get to the turn around. Cruised at between 30-45 km/h and up to 60km/h on the downhill pitches. Toes where quite numb by the end. What would you do differently?: Keep in my tuck more. Need to get properly fitted to the bike and the areo bars. Transition 2
Comments: Had a bit of trouble locating my spot on the racks What would you do differently?: Get a better idea of where I am in the transition area so that I can find it quicker. Run
Comments: Legs were much more tired, did a lot of walking. Tried to keep a bit for the kick at the end. Right achilies tendon started to act up. What would you do differently?: Train more before the race. Post race
Warm down: Walking around the indoor complex. Got my food, and tried some of the free sample juices. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training. Event comments: Fairly well organized, all in all an enjoyable day. The weather wasn't great but it just makes it feel like more of an acomplishment.
