Comments:

OK, I really need a new saddle. My happy parts were not happy at all with this saddle. Yea, I stayed in my aero bars a lot, but that seemed to aggrivate the problem. I believe on of those u shaped saddles has my name written all over it.

  • 10m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Wow, first time I ever did the best in running. People were suffering out there on the run course. It was my first half marathon ever, so i was pleased. I did get a wicked side stitch the last mile of the run which kind of sucked. I was like,"really, I just raced for over six hours and your going to do this now?" Had to walk a bit, but then sucked it up and finished.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Post race
Warm down:

walked. I was a bit afraid that if I sat down, I might not get up again. Drank water, went to the potty and waited for Alicia to come in.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. I was pleased with my first half IM. I think getting a new saddle and becoming more familiar with the long distance running will help me for next year.

Event comments:

Jarrod did an awesome job with this race. He had to change the run course a week before the event because of flooding that washed out a road. Everything was top notch. The only thing I would change is to bring a lot of bug spray b/c the mosquitoes are wicked at that park.
