Swim
Comments: Time was very slow. In July I raced this same distance in open water in 5:30. Pool was very crowded. After about 200 yards I swam like I was in open water, Ii you were slowing me down I was coming through. Had to swim over and bump people on a couple different times. What would you do differently?: Next year it will be more fun. I'll be able to race the bike and run faster and the pool will be less crowded. After the race a guy said he was sorry for hitting my feet repeatedly, but then thanked me for clearing a path. Transition 1
Comments: Long run through transition. Shoes off helmet on and goggles in the back pocket. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Cassette lock ring came loose and I used the 53-15 the entire second half of the course. I passed between 20 to 30 people on the bike and three disc wheels and I got passed by one biker. What would you do differently?: Double check race wheels. Transition 2
Comments: Quick. Flying dismount, bike racked, and goggles on while sprinting to the pool. Did take time to say hi to Mrs Edwards (a volunteer who works out at our gym). What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Took it very easy on the run. I dont race w/ a heart rate monitor for short course. I thought I was running around 7:50 to 8:00 miles. Show the fitness I've gained training for IMKY. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got my t-shirt and waited for the wife and kids to show up. Thanks several of the volunteers. What limited your ability to perform faster: A Ironman in 2 weeks. Event comments: A fellow BTer had an issue w. her split timing. This race dosen't use champion chip timing system, but that is why it cost 13 dollars. I'll do this race again next year. Up at 0400, breakfast, shower and dressed. Left the house around 0515. Got to race site around 0545, set up transition and played with Thomas.
About a 2 mile bike to check brakes and shifting. Then a ten minute jog about 30 minutes before race start.
