Swim
Comments: THIS SWIM SUCKED. Had an asthma attack in the pool due to the temp. I don't know the temp, but good GOD was it cold. I breast stroked the entire thing because no matter what I did, I just couldn't get control of my breath. I think I swallowed half the pool. At least I didn't quit in the pool, like I saw at least one person do. What would you do differently?: try using a wetsuit for outdoor swims, but other than that nothing. I couldn't breathe from the moment I hit the water. I was prepared for the swim, but not the pool temp. Transition 1
Comments: I think for my first triathlon and first transition, I did pretty well. What would you do differently?: Not much. Bike
Comments: I may have gone out a touch too hard trying to make up time from the pool, but at the same time. I never was able to quite catch my breath. I did pass someone on the bike though. I was playing tag with her for quite a while. But I think she got me on the run. What would you do differently?: Train outside more and train more hills. Transition 2
Comments: I did really well in this transition. Yankz are awesome. Need to work with them a bit more though to get them really comfortable What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I walked a majority of this part 1. because my legs were shot and 2, because I don't run. I did jog a couple of times. Jogged across the finish. I had to finish strong. What would you do differently?: try to work on my run if my knee will let me. Post race
Warm down: Massage, fluids, pack up and back to the hotel for lunch, ice bath and a nap. What limited your ability to perform faster: asthma attach Event comments: I probably won't do this race next year due to the distance, but it was a good race. I had a lot of fun. I saw people quitting and getting out of the pool. As someone told me once. You never know until you tri...and I did. I had a ball. Although at one point, I believe I asked a sheriff for his sidearm. I need to train a little differently for my next one in October, but now I know. Last updated: 2008-05-10 12:00 AM
