Swim
Comments: new PB!! What would you do differently?: absolutely nothing :) Transition 1
Comments: they had the weirdest system with transitions... you had to bring a bag you deposited outside the pool... when you got out you had to put the swim cap and the goggles inside the bag and hand it to a volunteer... the problem was that they had moved my bad and it took me a while to find it... then i lost a lot of time trying to get into my soaking wet shoes... What would you do differently?: i think i'll have to start practicing transitions... i lose way too much time there!!! Bike
Comments: i kicked butt on the bike :D it was SOOO much fun!! i only got passed twice - and only by one woman... i even lapped a couple of athletes :) oh and an almost 31k average is also a new PB for me!! What would you do differently?: absolutely nothing :) Transition 2
Comments: again - we had to drop off a bag with our shoes and they placed it in T2 for us... (2 different transition zones) the problem here was that my bag wasn't where it was supposed to be... my bib number was 96 and in the end i found my bag (with the running shoes) on the pile of numbers 165 - 180... What would you do differently?: see above... gotta train transitions!!! hahaha Run
Comments: ok i forgot to switch to the lower gears for the last couple of kilometers on the bike so my legs felt a bit heavy... the first kilometer was tough... the rest was ok... i'm the worst runner ever... it's so frustrating... if i ran as good as i'm on the bike and in the water i'd actually be a decent triathlete... but oh well... all i can do is train harder and get better :) actually i have no reason to be disapointed... in the end i was slow but still ran a new PB!! guess today was PB day!! :) What would you do differently?: well... i gave my best so i guess nothing? for the future: train more, train harder :) Post race
Warm down: walked it off a little What limited your ability to perform faster: my cracked wrist, the rain, the cold weather... bla bla bla excuses excuses... nah... nothing actually limited my ability to perform faster... i did my very best and i'm really pleased with my performance today :) Event comments: there were a few things i wasn't happy with (transitions) but in the end it was a fun race... lots of volunteers that made it worse competing... they rocked.. even though they had to stand in the rain forever... i'll be there again next year :) Last updated: 2008-05-18 12:00 AM
