Got ready and fixed my coffee and a turkey and egg sandwich. Then left to pick up a friend for the race.

I felt like I couldn't get my legs going until about half of the way through, but then I was finally able to pick up the pace and pass a few people. Of course they then caught me on the bike.

Warm down:

Drank water and talked. Then I went to the awards ceremony and was surprised to find that I had won 2nd in my age group. This is the 2nd time since I started three years ago that I have placed. I was really happy about it!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick!
