I knew people would start running like scared rabbits once the gun went off. They did. I decided to stay around my T pace of 7:30/mile. Tons of people ahead of me.

I thought 240W would be a good average, so I pegged it there. Passed quite a bit of the rabbits. Had to hit 300+ quite a few times to get over some hills and drop some people.

Uh-oh. Left ITB started hurting. Forerunner 50 stopped receiving from my footpod. Think I should've hit the start/stop button.
What would you do differently?:

Warm up better. Probably need 15 minutes of easy spinning.

Wheels came off here. Knee was hurting really bad. Stopped to stretch, got passed. Walked a little. Got passed. Did a cross between skipping/running for a bit. Did a bit of stiff-legged running.

Quite pleased with the time considering.

There was a keg of wheat beer. Got a massage, watched Aaron play on the playground.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Biomechanics.
