Pre-race routine:

Set up transition area, chatted with a bunch of my TNT peeps, which made the time go by quickly.
Event warmup:

Swam a quick 50m or so.
Swim
  • 36m 26s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 26s / 100 meters
Comments:

Good swim. Felt like my line and sighting were pretty good. Swim time included a 1/4 jog from the lake up to transition.
Transition 1
  • 02m 10s
Comments:

Pretty good transition. Much quicker than my last tri. Going no socks helped lots.
Bike
  • 2h 02m 19s
  • 30 miles
  • 14.72 mile/hr
Comments:

I took the bike easier than last race (perhaps a little too easy). I wanted to make sure I didn't die on the run again. Bike felt ok, but I am so slow on the bike. Have to work on that!
Transition 2
  • 02m 24s
Comments:

Not good when the second transition is slower than the first. I have decided I need to ditch socks completely. Also, there wasn't room on the rack for my bike, so I had to rearrange some other people's to make room. I did switch my garmin during the last mile of the bike, which worked much better.
What would you do differently?:

No socks. Also, if it's not sunny, don't take the sunglasses.
Run
  • 1h 09m 14s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 11m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Much better run that my last race - I actually ran!! I walked throught the water stations, which is ok. Also, my back was tight, so I stretched it at a couple of the water stations, which did help. Overall, happy with the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Nothing special. Sat with my family and my TNT peeps.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I'm very happy with this race. I beat my time from Maui, and this race was 6 miles longer. Lots of fun doing it with my TNT teammates. Not that thrilled with placing LAST of the clydesdales, but that's what you get when you race in insanely fast Colorado.

Event comments:

Great race. Very well organized, tons of volunteers - there was never any question on where to go. Beautiful bike course.
