Swim
Comments: I really enjoyed the swim, it was hard to find some open water at first but once I did I found a decent stride. Sighting was a bit more difficult given the zero visibility of the water. Had to swim breast stroke for a little while to figure out where I was going. What would you do differently?: Get in the front of the pack...I was timid since it was my first race, but swimming was my strongest part of the race. Transition 1
Comments: Trying to catch my breath as I ran uphill to the transition area was a little difficult. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Definitely need to work more on hills...had to walk up two of them. Just couldn't make it up. This slowed down my bike time A LOT! Especially because it was super hot outside. What would you do differently?: Ride up hills Transition 2
Comments: This transition was suprisingly fast. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: It was hot...super hot...so hot that I ran about a minute and half and realized I would have to walk it if I was going to finish this race. People were great during the run a lot of encouragement! What would you do differently?: Actually run. Post race
Warm down: Lots of water, melon, and a banana. Didn't really strech a whole lot What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat was a huge factor in this race Event comments: This was my first one and I will say that they could have had more water stations out considering the heat. It was about 90 to 92 degrees by the time we were finishing the race. As I understand they ran out of water on the course for the Olympic racers...that's terrible. Last updated: 2008-05-22 12:00 AM

Being my first tri event my friend and I got there super early we left Columbus at 4:45am... since we had no idea what we were doing. This paid off with a great parking spot next to some very nice people who didn't get annoyed by all of our silly questions. We grabbed our registtation packets and got our gear together to set up our transition area's. Thanks to all the help on this forum I felt really prepared for what I needed to do which was great.
Didn't really do anything...stretched a little bit, lots of walking back and forth from the car to the transition area, to the beach back to the car.
