Pre-race routine:

Woke up early, stretched, ate 1.5 bowls of Cheerios and 4 crackers with pb. Tons of water. Lightning storm at home.

Gun went off quick; I was still fiddling with goggles and timer. Rest of race was brutal; horrible sighting, could not get into a groove.

Sight more often in beginning, start on time!

Hot Run! Took a lot of fluid, cramp over left hipbone for first 5k, really opened up and felt better after that. Could have pushed a little harder, but there was no one catchable in front (or behind)
What would you do differently?:

Go harder in beginning...stop holding back in first 2 miles.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Horrible sighting on swim (was all over the place), need to go harder earlier on run.

Event comments:

Good race, always well organized and a great course. Overall I am very pleased; CGI/LinMark also corrected an initial error with my (and the entire second wave's) time; thanks! A few critiques: start the sprint SECOND...having them on the course before us is crazy, and the delay between closing the transition and the start of the oly is really, really long. Also, the only thing I ever want after a race is bananas, bagels w/pb, drinks (gatorade and water) and maybe some trail mix...the bags are a real downner and I don't eat most of the stuff in them. Great race.
